To all the women of my tribe 💗
I am her.
daughter of the sun
her story is one of passion, momentum and courage
born with a purpose, on purpose
she is a natural leader
she reminds women of their lioness within
breathing an arresting honesty into all she creates
she is fierce, bold, resilient
she knows worthiness isn't something you search for
it's something you recognise you already are
dark chocolate, warm embers and backbone
she is a big leap, a dream riding on a shade of something beautiful
she opens her palms far and wide
unafraid to take up space in the world
she pushes limits in the name of heart
in the name of love
The heart chakra... I see the expanse of the heart's energy field, how much we can love and uplift others. I could be called a seer of the heart. ❤
The Heart Chakra is the 4th Chakra, located at the centre of the seven. It is where the physical and spiritual come together. In Sanskrit, it is referred to as the Anahata which means unhurt, the spiritual place where past experiences and grievances cannot harm us. The Anahata Chakra is associated with the colour green, which stands for transformation and love energy.
If this is properly balanced, this is indicated by your personal conduct. Those with an open Heart Chakra are full of love, forgiveness and compassion. Conversely, if the Heart Chakra is out of balance, or closed, people tend to have personalities that are filled with anger, grief, hatred and jealousy, all being physical manifestations of a fourth chakra that needs to be healed. Learning how to open the Heart Chakra is a beautiful experience. Whether a person has experienced blockage since childhood or due to a recent encounter, opening the heart is the start of your healing process.
When Is The Heart Chakra Opened?
When the heart is opened, you will naturally feel love and compassion for others. A balanced chakra that is opened allows people to be who they are, instead of attempting to mould them to expectations. A person with an open Heart Chakra is altruistic and respects others. People around them will notice an easy going peace about the person, no matter what else may be going on in the room.
When Is The Heart Chakra Blocked?
When the Heart Chakra energy is blocked, it can have a negative effect on your physical, mental, spiritual and emotional health. In regards to the body, this can include poor circulation and blood pressure extremes. The heart, lungs and upper extremities are all influenced greatly by this Chakra. Spiritually, a blocked fourth Chakra can cause a feeling of disconnect and lack of empathy whereas the emotional repercussions include an inability to trust oneself or others and a fear of intimacy. Deep insecurity and fears are also common. These can grow into mental challenges such as manipulative behaviours. Allergies and Asthma are also related to this energy centre.
Healing Your Heart Chakra
If you have recognized that you are experiencing the symptoms of a closed and imbalanced Heart Chakra, including a constant state of negativity about yourself or others in your life, this fourth chakra must be repaired.
Some Healing Techniques:
Once you have become aware of an imbalance in the fourth Chakra, meditation can help to restore the proper energy flow through the region.
Meditation is a deeply personal experience, and everyone should find out what works best for them. This includes wearing comfortable clothing and arranging for a time and place where there will be no disturbances.
2) Work with the Chakra’s Colour
The colour green is associated with the Heart Chakra and you can incorporate it into your meditation practice and your daily life. Add green clothing to your wardrobe and decorate with some green. Plants are a great way to add greenery and life into your work space.
3) Try out Mantras
Mantras are a good way to affirm your efforts. These are simple and help to provide focus. The mantra for the Heart Chakra is ‘YAM’. Chant this to heal both the physical heart and the spiritual (emotional) heart centre and open yourself up to unconditional love and compassion. This can be repeated vocally or sub-vocally while you meditate.
4) Benefit from Affirmations
Because an imbalance in the heart energy is often associated with esteem issues, it can be useful for you to practice positive affirmations to increase the positive energy associated with the fourth chakra
Examples of affirmations include statements like these:
• “ I deeply, and completely love and accept myself”
• “ I am open to love”
• “ I am wanted and loved”
• “ I forgive myself”
• “ I live in balance; in a state of grace and gratefulness”
The Heart chakra is such an important chakra, the centerpiece of all seven. It is the place where the physical and spiritual planes come together, and all of this rests on a foundation of love and gratitude. When it is open, there is much joy and love to be found in the world.
Many clients have asked me about these in a reading and here is my perspective…I have myself encountered several soul mates in my lifetime, some romantic, some not, but I have yet to meet my twin flame…
SOUL MATE meetings are about soul evolution and human growth through the cycle of union and separation. Soul mate meetings are usually about love/relationship evolution and most of these connections are intense and difficult. However, soul mate connections can be our parents, teachers, friends, lovers or even enemies. A soul mate usually does not stay with us. He or she comes to teach us major lessons, but will leave when the time comes regardless if you have learnt the lesson or not. We have a karmic appointment with that person, set up a long time ago before incarnation, and we meet again to help each other evolve through specific experiences. Some are happy one’s, most are difficult scenarios. We don’t know why, but we are intensely attracted to that individual and we can feel that telepathic connection. The energy will not be as intense as that of a twin flame, but the deep connection is there nonetheless. That is the sign of our karmic connection, recognition of two souls of a previous relationship. These karmic past lives could have been very diverse such as parent-child relationship, lovers bond, master-slave link, or murderer-victim story. Soul mate connections can be so challenging that the two people involved will not stay together. It doesn’t mean they have not fulfilled their karmic obligation to interact with one another. It is completed. What is important is what lesson has been learned and if there has been spiritual growth and evolution of the soul.
A TWIN FLAME relationship (mirror image soul) is not about love. It’s about truth. Twin flames often cause radical personal awakenings for one another because they can see straight through to one another. The attraction will be very intense, on an emotional, mental and physical level. A twin flame is the exact mirror image of you. The real purpose of a twin flame connection is to break down everything you have carried, both consciously and subconsciously, that has kept you from becoming who you are meant to be. Twin flame relationships are about enlightenment and enlightenment is a destructive process. It has nothing to do with being happy or comfortable. It is the crumbling away of untruth and a spiritual quest to find oneself. Few people will have a twin flame connection, as they are not evolved enough and it is rare for two halves of the same evolved soul that has split into two, to incarnate in the same lifetime.
Because anyone can benefit from Reiki, I love its ability to reach people through its universality, which has no judgements, conditions or expectations when entering the human energy field. Reiki brings wholeness, no matter what a person's education, religion, race or belief system might be.
Abundance is flowing in every area of my life.
Miracles manifest everyday.
I am grateful.
Hailed as the beginning of summer, Beltane honours life and is usually celebrated on April 30th or May 1st. The flowers of the hawthorn tree are in bloom, summer’s advent beautifies the radiant earth. Winter’s chains are broken for good as the wheel of the year turns from winter to summer. The sacred union (hieros gamos) of the goddess and the god is observed, and we regard our bodies as mirrors of the divine plan. The great blazing fire of the Beltane bonfire ignites passion in us. Everywhere, in root and in flower, the proliferation of the abundance of the earth is seen. The fresh tenderness of spring is transforming before our eyes into the lush fullness of new life taking hold, and thriving.
I was working with Arianrhod today, the Welsh Goddess of the Silver Wheel, cosmic weaver of time and fate, who is very special to me as she represents the empowered woman (versus the wounded woman) who reminds us that as women we are the masters of our destiny and this was her message: Delve into your soul, seek the knowledge of past lives so that you may release the past and allow rebirth and renewal to occur. Always seek truth of self and others.
Beautiful affirmations for personal growth.
Goddess Bastet 🐱 love working with her energy. Revered by the ancient Egyptians, Bastet's themes are animals, magic, overcoming obstacles and joy. Bastet teaches us to land on our feet in any situation using a positive, playful attitude as our best ally. May is traditionally Bastet's festival month.
In the infinity of life where I am
All is perfect, whole and complete.
Change is the natural law of life. I welcome change.
I am willing to change. I choose to change my thinking.
I choose to change the words I use.
I move from the old to the new with joy and ease.
It is easier for me to forgive than I thought.
Forgiving makes me feel free and light.
It is with joy I learn to love myself more.
The more resentment I release, the more love I have to express.
I am learning to choose to make today a pleasure to experience.
All is well in my world.
June 21st. Summer Solstice.
~Litha~ The song of summer
The sprouting leaves are now dense and thick. The sabbat of Litha is the triumph of the sun and the culmination of the Green Man or the Oak King, the embodiment of the spirit of nature and the sacred male principal. His visage appears among the lush green leaves, peering out from amongst the foliage with penetrating eyes that shine forth with the wisdom of the natural world. He signifies chaos and beauty, he is the natural order of the universe and the frenzy of life untamed. Litha is also associated with the faerie realm. Midsummers Eve is often regarded as a time of intense magick and is considered suitable for love spells and charms. Today, the day it at its longest and the full glory of the earth is manifested in the bounty of summer, every rock, tree, bird and insect seems to radiate vitality. All is a whirl of activity. We take a cue from the natural world and use this time to align with the powerful energies that surround us. Whilst the summer solstice is a culmination, it is also an ending. As the power of the sun reaches its peak, the only thing that can follow is decline. The time of the Oak King, the half year of burgeoning life and light, passes and the reign of the Holly King, who presides over the waning year, begins.

How many years of beauty do I have left?
she asks me.
How many more do you want?
Here. Here is 34. Here is 50.
When you are 80 years old
and your beauty rises in ways
your cells cannot even imagine now
and your wild bones grow luminous and
ripe, having carried the weight
of a passionate life.
When your hair is aflame
and you have decades of
learning and leaving and loving
the corners of your eyes
and your children come home
to find their own history
in your face.
When you know what it feels like to fail
and have gained the
to rise and rise and rise again.
When you can make your tea
on a quiet and ridiculously lonely afternoon
and still have a song in your heart
Queen owl wings beating
beneath the cotton of your sweater.
Because your beauty began there
beneath the sweater and the skin,
This is when I will take you
into my arms and coo
YOU BRAVE AND GLORIOUS THING
you’ve come so far.
I see you.
Your beauty is breathtaking.

In the ancient world, Hermes Trismegistus had the reputation of being the greatest, most powerful magus (magician) the world had ever known. When his tomb was opened, centuries after his passing, those who were in touch with the ancients waited with a great sense of expectancy. It was said the greatest secret of the ages would be found within the tomb. And so it was. The secret was:
As within, so without;
As above, so below....
There is a story about a poor man who lived a life of utmost misery. All his life was spent in a pursuit of wealth. He journeyed everywhere in his search, until he finally expired alone in the small hut where he had been born. However, all the time unbeknown to him an unimaginable pile of treasure had lain concealed beneath the floor.
In other words...whatever you impress in your subconcscious mind, that becomes expressed on your screen of space. Whatever you feel as true, is expressed as conditions, experiences and events. Motion and emotion must balance. As above (your own mind), so on earth (in your body and environment) This is the great law of life. We look in every place for happiness. Yet it has always been within reach, for it is mind itself "the king of all creators" which is the source of true joy, widom and compassion. It is this discovery which constitutes "enlightenment".
Lugh: The sun god of the ending summer.
Named for the Celtic deity Lugh, the sabbat of Lughnasad (also know as Lammas) is a tribute to the first harvest and the beginning of the end of summer. Celebrated on August Eve, or August 1, Lughnasad represents the first day of the Celtic autumn. It is also the first of the three annual harvests along with Mabon, the second harvest, and Samhain, the third and final harvest of the year.
Journeying south towards the celestial equator, the sun begins to spend less time above the horizon. We are now halfway to autumn. The fruits of summer are abundant as they give way to the grains of the harvest. The first sheaves are cut and lie waiting in the fields. Although the fruits of labour have reached their pinnacle, the results remain unknown. Themes of hope, trust and belief dominate the sabbat of Lughnasad, which is also the traditional time of handfasting between beloveds. Typical Lughnasad observances include the gathering of wild berries, the baking of bread from new wheat and the visitation of holy wells.
Are you a fellow empath? This has helped me on my journey, so this may resonate with some of you.
~Know yourself~ Know you. Listen to your gut, address your needs. It is easy to become a sponge sucking up everyone’s emotions and losing your own. Know when you are overwhelmed. Know when to set boundaries. Know when you need time to decompress and sort through the web of emotions you are entangled in.
~Boundaries~ Being an empath doesn’t mean you have to hold someone else’s emotions. It just means you are aware. You can bring their attention to what you are feeling. But you don’t have to hold it, because it is not yours to hold. It’s theirs. So give it back. Taking it on does no good for you, or them.
~Bubble of light~ Before you venture out, always surround yourself in a bright light, any colour, but not black. White, or gold is good, and throw in some glitter, because glitter is reflective and negativity will bounce off it.
~Support system~ Have people you can turn to. People you can turn to and who will jump in the hole with you. People who will listen to you. Don’t discount your pets, if you have them. Animals can be incredible healing allies.
~Crystals~ Carry some rose quartz with you. This is the stone of unconditional love. This will remind you that you are loved unconditionally at all times. Also, carrying black tourmaline is very protective and will act as a buffer between you and the world.
~Salt bath~ Indulge in a salt bath with some aromatherapy and herbs. Set the intention as you take a bath with Epsom or Himalayan salts that everything that has stuck to you will come away with the salt. Adding some lemon balm or fresh lemongrass is also very cleansing.
~Release and refill~ Get comfortable, either sitting down or lying down. Set the intention, out loud, that you are releasing and letting go of all that does not serve you either consciously or unconsciously for your highest good. Allow it to drain away, into the earth to be recycled. Once you feel you have released everything, let the Earth’s energies spiral up and fill you. Let cosmic energy spiral from the sky through your crown chakra and fill you. As you fill yourself, say “I love me”.
Full Moon in Aquarius urges us to innovate, think outside the box and most of all, to let go of all that does not serve us. Exciting new changes are coming!
We are not separate from the natural world. Sadly, the state of our world (and our own inner state) is in dire need of our being in the right relationship with the Earth.
"Listen! the wind is rising,
and the air is wild with leaves,
We have had our summer evenings,
now for October eves!"
- Humbert Wolfe
Samhain. The witch's New Year. A Year ends, a Year begins...
Samhain represents the third and final harvest of the year, where the remaining produce is stored to provide nourishment during the coming winter. It is the mid-point between the autumnal equinox and the winter solstice.
The approach of winter is palpable now. The coming cold whispers your name on the gathering wind. The Cailleach is awakening...tonight it is believed that the dead walk and the faeries cavort, causing both magick and mayhem...
Wishing you all a blessed and magickal Samhain!

Few alive remember that Raven used to be white as freshly fallen snow. For deep in Raven's heart is an ancient secret...
In the tales of the Lummi Nation native to the Pacific Northwest, Raven stole the sun. In time's beginning, the world lived in darkness. In this swirling mass of darkness, lived Raven, his feathers as white as the stars that did not yet shine, his heart as fiery as the absent sun. Raven fell in love with Eagle's daughter, and as happens in courtship, was invited to Eagle's home. When Raven entered Eagle's aerie, he was startled to see a massive globe of fire warming Eagles's hearth. This fiery sphere was enough to not just warm Eagle's aerie, but the whole benighted world. Raven knew what he had to do and what it would cost him. But the world was dark and full of suffering. So Raven grabbed the fiery globe and soared up Eagle's chimney. Raven flew higher and higher into the heavens, his wings now covered in black soot. With Eagle in chase, he flung the orb as hard and high as he could. The sun flew out of reach and settled into his home in the sky. Today, Raven's wings remain as black as the night that existed before he stole the sun.
Wishing you all a magickal full moon. Have your wishlist ready!
